Adult-managed by design

How Backfield protects youth-sports communities.

Last updated July 30, 2026

Adult ownership

Campaigns are created and managed by adults who confirm they are authorized to represent the team, school, club, league, or booster organization. Backfield does not support youth self-managed fundraising pages.

Limited youth information

Public campaign pages are designed around team-level stories, funding goals, sponsor packages, and community impact. Managers should avoid publishing athlete addresses, personal contact details, medical information, school schedules, or any sensitive child data.

Image and media permissions

Teams should use fictional, owned, licensed, or expressly permitted media. When real youth athletes appear in photos or video, the organization should maintain parent or guardian releases and follow school, league, and governing-body rules.

Reporting and review

Public pages include a report path for concerns. Backfield can review reports, suspend problematic campaigns, and restrict publishing when safety, authority, payment, or privacy claims are unclear.

Before launch

  • ✓ Use adult manager accounts only.
  • ✓ Keep public copy team-level, not child-profile-level.
  • ✓ Confirm photo/video permissions before publishing.
  • ✓ Use organization-owned payment accounts, not a child or informal personal account.
